As a Variation on the same theme, Marc Newson and Sébastien Segers design a second generation of the Qantas lounges, called chairmans, for VIP clients traveling on the domestic flights. They are designed as the continuation of the previous Projects with the same aesthetic and the same binding standards. Nevertheless the atmosphere is snug and warmer, it is also more masculine and the range of colours is different: the walls are cladded with a China soft black marble, with very little veining, the lacquer is dark green, the leather is brown, green and camel, the cabinet work is oak. Our aim is to provide the atmosphere of gentlemen’s clubs.

Following this experience gained with Marc Newson, Sébastien Segers is now devoting his energy to the third generation of Qantas First Class lounges in several airports in Asia (Hong-Kong) and in the United States (Los Angeles).
